These photos are from the weekend of Linux12, a picnic in August of 2003 celebrating the 12th birthday of Linux and the 10th birthday of Debian. The night before the picnic we walked around downtown Philly and the historic district; right when we got there, the sun was about to set and the light was very strong and yellow. I got a few good pictures this way before it got dark. Most of these pictures are of architecture; I learned a lot about how NOT to take pictures of architecture. The main tip I can give you is: compose the scene on the screen (if a digital camera) or else use an SLR. If you look through a rangefinder, something will be off-center or crooked, and when the subject of your photo is full of straight lines, everything needs to be straight.
There are also three photos in the middle of some old-school subway signs, which I've included just for the heck of it.
